VR Headsets For PC Beginning At $300 Coming From HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer

Relatively low-cost tethered virtual reality headsets are in the works at a number of companies, Microsoft has revealed. HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer are all working on VR headsets that’ll begin at $299. They will connect to your PC and come with six degrees of freedom sensors.

Much of Microsoft’s event today has dealt with upcoming virtual reality capabilities for Windows 10. Its partnerships with the aforementioned companies will help Microsoft spread the use of VR, while it positions Windows 10 as a VR-friendly OS.

These headsets will likely begin arriving in spring 2017 around the same time that Microsoft’s just-introduced “Creator’s Update” is set to launch.
