Samsung's New Gear VR Headset Rumoured To Feature 1,500ppi Display

In 2016, Samsung Gear VR was the most popular virtual reality headset, with the company shipping 4.51 million units, outselling the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR combined. At MWC 2017, Samsung held a private meeting where it showed some future technologies, including a new Gear VR headset.

According to reports, the headset had 1,200ppi display, but Samsung is allegedly preparing a headset with 1,500ppi display. For comparison, the Oculus Rift currently has a 461ppi display.

Samsung is also working on new OLED displays for smartphones that would allow future smartphones to have a brighter, clearer display with better efficiency.
