Samsung’s phones aren’t the only products that have run into safety issues. According to US regulators, some of its washing machines have also been exploding. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says it is aware of “safety issues” with some unnamed models made between March 2011 and April 2016.
Reports of explosions have appeared in multiple US states and it’s believed there may be 21 complaints so far. In a Texas case, a woman’s washer “exploded with such ferocity that it penetrated the interior wall of her garage.”
A statement from Samsung says it is in “active discussions with the CPSC to address potential safety issues related to certain top-load washing machines.”
