Apple’s next 42 mm smartwatch is going to include a significantly larger battery, according to a leaked photo of its battery that was shared on Weibo. The photo is of a 334 mAh lithium-ion battery, which if real, is 35.7% larger than what the current Apple Watch uses.
This leak didn’t share anything about the 38 mm model’s battery, but it will also presumably increase.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, previously stated he believes an Apple Watch 2 with a larger battery will arrive later this year. The larger battery and other optimizations should bring a longer battery life to the device.
