LG G7 ThinQ confirmed and practically announced by LG itself

LG has a partially interesting, partially puzzling strategy for big announcements. There is something between Samsung’s silence and OnePlus breadcrumb teaser. LG often announces parts and features of its upcoming flagship and leaves virtually nothing left to the imagination. It reaffirms what we have heard all the time. The next flagship will be the LG G7 ThinQ and it will take another three weeks.

LG is very proud to announce that it is the first G Series ThinQ phone. Mind you, it’s not the first ThinQ smartphone. This award is part of the LG V30S ThinQ, which was announced at the MWC two months ago. And like the V-Series smartphone, the LG G7 ThinQ will focus on AI.

ThinQ is LG’s new umbrella brand for everything related to AI. It started rebranding the old SmartThinQ smart home appliances and now it extends that to its smartphones. Unlike other OEMs, LG does not have its own intelligent assistant and actually integrates with Google Assistant. The focus is rather on the integration of AI in various functions, such as the usual photography intelligence, smartphone and smart home control, etc.

LG has so far indicated nothing but the name and its focus, but LG We can expect more advance notice in the coming days. In addition, the LG G7 ThinQ has now leaked too much. The official renderings acquired by AndroidHeadlines confirm a larger and slimmer phone than the LG G6. Almost like a Samsung Galaxy S9 with a notch.

It will definitely be interesting to see how the market is going to react in this new direction, especially considering that LG started the G7 ThinQ from the start. The company will unveil the smartphone on May 2 at the Metropolitan West in Manhattan.
