LG Develops Faster Radio Technology For 5G

Current 4G LTE technology is present on almost every phone, including the most affordable ones. The next step is to implement 5G technology, which is expected to launch in a year or two. Actually, Verizon and AT&T are aiming to launch 5G networks sometime next year.

LG Electronics has now announced that it has demonstrated a new full duplex radio (FDR) technology that can be used with 5G devices and networks. The new FDR technology is based on a broadband multi antenna technology called multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) that run on the 80 MHz frequency range. It can boost frequency efficiency in the fifth-generation (5G) network environment, allowing it to transfer data at twice the speed of TDD.
