Reports about the iPhone 8 using a curved OLED display are piling up. The latest rumors suggest Interflex, BH, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics will supply the necessary components for Samsung Display to manufacture the panels. Component providers have reportedly increased the availability of OLED parts in preparation for the next iPhone.
Curved displays are beginning to gain traction in the market and AMOLED has clear benefits. Samsung’s panels offer a greater maximum brightness, richer colors, and a higher refresh rate. They also don’t take up as much space.
The iPhone 8’s design will be nearly bezel-less and it could include a fingerprint reader and/or home button in the display.
