Instagram’s Photo Map, which lets you browse the world and see thumbnails of photos connected to various locations, is on its way out. The company has confirmed Photo Map is already disabled for some users and it will soon be disabled for everyone. While some people were fans of the feature, Instagram says it was “not widely used” and it therefore wants to “focus on other priorities.”
Photo Maps for your own account will still be available for the time being, but that option is also going to be eliminated.
Even though this form of location-based browsing is being disabled, users can still tag their photos and browse those shared from particular locations.
