Huawei’s Mate 9 will be available in the United States beginning today and it’s the first phone to come with Amazon’s Alexa preinstalled. The Alexa app gives users a “natural, convenient user interface” to interact with the assistant, says Huawei.
Alexa can essentially be used on the phone just as Siri or Google Assistant would be. The assistant’s appearance on a handset puts it in more direct competition with those from Google and Apple.
The Mate 9 comes with a 5.9-inch 1080p display, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, Huawei’s Kirin 960 processor, a 4,000 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, and a dual-camera system. It costs $600.
