Android 7.0 Nougat is rolling out to unlocked HTC One A9 units. This is a big update for the phone and is likely to be its last. The One A9 was released in October 2015, so it’s unlikely future Android generations will be available on the device.
Included in Nougat are new emoji, performance enhancements, and some new features. A Doze improvement will improve battery life, split-screen multitasking is available, and support for the Vulkan API will boost gaming performance.
The update is joined by Google’s Android security patch for January.
