Support for payments may soon be added to Google Assistant. A teardown of the latest beta points to the existence of payment functionality, allowing users to spend money with their voice or potentially place orders within the Allo messaging app.
XDA Developers’ teardown suggests users can control which Assistant-enabled devices will be allowed to tap into payment settings. You’ll presumably be able to use the feature on phones like the Google Pixel as well as on devices like the Google Home.
The underlying technology for this ability likely won’t differ much from Android Pay.
