Google Assistant Headed To Android TV

Google Assistant will be built into Android TV “in the coming months,” bringing it to televisions and other devices that use the platform. Devices must be running at least Android 6.0 to receive Assistant. Google mentioned some of the products that’ll get the feature.

Assistant will be offered on the AirTV Player, the Nvidia Shield, and the Xiaomi Mi Box. It will also reach all Android TV televisions in the US that are running Android 6.0 or Android 7.0.

You’ll be able to use Assistant to play content on streaming services and control your device in other ways. At least in the case of the Nvidia Shield, it’ll be accessible with an “OK Google” command.
