Apple Removes VPNs From China App Store

Apple VPNs allowed users to bypass China’s so-called “Great Firewall” that was supposed to restrict access to overseas sites, but the Cupertino company has now pulled several virtual private network (VPN) services from the local version of the App store.

Reportedly all virtual private networks are removed from App Store in China and notifications are being sent to developers in China explaining their VPN app was removed from the App Store. The exact reasons why Apple decided to remove all VPNs are unknown, but reportedly it is because “some VPN apps in China that do not meet the new regulations.”
