Apple wants to come out with a foldable iPhone, but it’s not working with Samsung on the project. Instead, it has reportedly turned to LG. The Bell says they’re working together on a foldable OLED display and LG Innotek will be working on a flexible printed circuit board.
The decision to go with LG instead of Samsung is partly tied to the fact that Samsung itself is a more serious competitor of Apple in the smartphone market. Additionally, there have reportedly been concerns about leaks.
Samsung is currently the only supplier of OLED panels for the Apple iPhone X, but many reports indicate Apple wants to expand its OLED sourcing.
