An important security update is now out for iOS and it is recommended everyone install it. The update, called iOS 9.3.5, fixes a vulnerability that has been exploited by spyware. Apple immediately went to work on fixing the problem, which was discussed by Lookout and Citizen Lab this week.
Lookout’s report on the matter says three previously unknown iOS vulnerabilities could be exploited by spyware that’s believed to have come from NSO Group, an Israeli company that sells spyware.
This vulnerability came to light around August 10 after Ahmed Mansoor, a human rights activist in the UAE, received texts that could have infected his phone with spyware.
