Android Pay Headed To Mobile Web, First On Chrome

Android Pay is moving beyond contactless payments and app purchases to become available on the mobile web for some transactions. Google says the service has arrived in Chrome for Android, allowing you to pay for items offered by retailers that are supporting the payment system.

The payment service is also now working with Uber’s Payment Rewards program, allowing you to receive discounts if you pay for rides with Android Pay. In the US, your first 10 rides that use Android Pay will be discounted by 50%.

Support for more banks is arriving as well, including Chase in the US and Santander and TSB in the UK.
