Earlier this month, GSMArena has reported that Apple is hiding some things about its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones in terms of performance. According to them, the 32 GB iPhone 7 models have worse storage performance than other capacities. Now, more sites are reporting that the 32 GB iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have 8X slower data write speeds than other capacities.
The difference between 32 GB and 128 GB iPhone 7 is rather large. Read speeds are somewhat similar, with the 32 GB model reading at 656 MB/s and the 128 GB model reading at 856 MB/s, but the difference in write speeds is extremely big. The 32 GB model writes at 42 MB/s, while the 128 GB writes at 341 MB/s.
Real-world test has also confirmed these results. The 128 GB model transfer a 4.2 GB movie in 2 minutes and 34 seconds, while 32 GB needed 3 minutes and 40 seconds for the same task. For more information, check the video below.
